چکیده

Introduction. The article presents an overview of novel complex algorithm based on methods ultrasound steatometry, combined elastography and dual-energy X-ray absorbtiometry in “Whole body” mode diagnostic monitoring metabolically associated fatty liver disease. purpose the study: to assess possibility quantitative steatometry using detection Material methods. 157 patients were examined. main group consisted 47 with steatosis; 45 steatohepatitis clinically insignificant fibrosis (F0-F1); 32 significant (F2-F3); 33 focal hepatic steatosis. We used questionnaires, laboratory tests, x-ray mode, biopsy. determine severity steatosis, a scale was used: S0 – no 2.9 dB/cm. Results conclusion. It is possible use for disease, as reference method both initial disease non-drug treatment (sensitivity 90.7%, specificity 92.4%). optimal diagnosis includes assessment level compliance, absorptiometry «Whole body» 92.8%, 92.3%).

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease: molecular mechanisms for the hepatic steatosis

Liver plays a central role in the biogenesis of major metabolites including glucose, fatty acids, and cholesterol. Increased incidence of obesity in the modern society promotes insulin resistance in the peripheral tissues in humans, and could cause severe metabolic disorders by inducing accumulation of lipid in the liver, resulting in the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)...

Prevalence of hepatic steatosis and associated factors in Iranian patients with chronic hepatitis C

Background: Hepatic steatosis is commonly observed in patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC). Many studies indicate a relationship between steatosis and fibrosis progression. The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of hepatic steatosis and related factors in Iranian CHC patients.   Methods: One hundred and fifteen consecutive patients with CHC were enrolled which were treat...

NOX2-generated oxidative stress is associated with severity of ultrasound liver steatosis in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

BACKGROUND Chronic oxidative stress is one of the key mechanisms responsible for disease progression in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. However, so far, few studies reported increased circulating levels of oxidative stress markers in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver and no study has been performed with newer markers of systemic oxidative stress. The aim was to assess the relationship ...

Periodontitis is associated with significant hepatic fibrosis in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has a bidirectional association with metabolic syndrome. It affects up to 30% of the general population, 70% of individuals with diabetes and 90% with obesity. The main histological hallmark of progressive NAFLD is fibrosis. There is a bidirectional epidemiological link between periodontitis and metabolic syndrome. NAFLD, periodontit...

Novel treatment strategies for patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), the hepatic manifestation of the metabolic syndrome, affects up to 30% of the population. As with the obesity and diabetes epidemic, NAFLD is a significant public health concern. Compared to other chronic liver diseases, management options for NAFLD are limited. While current treatment focuses on weight loss and management of cardiometabolic risk factor...
